The Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness supports 17 full-time and 6 half-time members in the Michigan Campaign to End Homelessness AmeriCorps Program. Members help to fill a critical gap in direct services provided a homeless service agencies throughout the State of Michigan. Often serving as housing, referral, and services specialists, they perform outreach activities and assist individuals experiencing homelessness or those at-risk of homelessness to assess barriers to housing, develop strategic plans, and identify housing opportunities. Members will also stay engaged in the community helping to educate about the causes of homelessness and in turn, leverage an additional 475 new volunteers to help provide services at the agencies they are serving.

For more information about serving as a host site for the program or applying to serve as an AmeriCorps member, please consult the program page on the Michigan Coalition Against Homelessness website. You may also contact Shanelle Oliver, Program Director, at or by telephone at (517) 853-3897.
