This press release is being shared as a public service by the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development on behalf of the company.

For Immediate Release: December 13, 2019
Media Contact: Scott Moloney, Treat Dreams store owner, 248-544-3440

FERNDALE, MI—Treat Dreams has issued a recall for all their frozen dessert products in pint containers due to insufficient ingredient labels resulting in undeclared dairy, tree nut, peanut, wheat, egg, and soy allergens. Consumers who are allergic to any of these allergens run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

All insufficiently labeled, recalled frozen dessert products are packaged in teal-colored, pint-sized paper containers and were available for purchase at Treat Dreams located at 22965 Woodward Ave., Ferndale, MI, and 4160 Cass Avenue, Detroit, MI.

The recall was initiated after a routine site inspection by Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) food and dairy inspectors. The inspection revealed Treat Dreams was unable to provide labels with allergen and nutritional information for their products as required under the Michigan Food Law and the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance.

No illnesses or allergic reactions involving this product have been reported to date.

Customer safety has always been a priority at Treat Dreams. The company is working with MDARD to provide acceptable labels for their products. Consumers who have purchased the teal-colored, pint-sized containers from the freezers at either Treat Dreams location are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with any questions may contact the Treat Dreams store manager at 248-544-3440.
