Kathy Angerer

Acting Director

Kathy Angerer serves as the Acting Director for MDARD supporting the department's continued commitment in investing in the state’s rural communities, expanding food and agriculture businesses, protecting consumers from the pump to the plate, and preserving Michigan’s environmental resources.  She previously served as the department’s Deputy Director.

Angerer has served the people of the State of Michigan and southeast Michigan in several roles throughout her career. She was a State Representative from 2005-2010; Executive Director of Government Affairs at AT&T Michigan from 2011-2012; and more recently, served as the City Manager for Hamtramck. Additionally, she has served as Hamtramck’s Director of Community & Economic Development as well as their Community and Governmental Affairs Director.

She grew up in Carleton, Michigan, attended Monroe County Community College, and is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University.
