Chad Rogers
Deputy Director of the Environmental Stewardship Division
Chad Rogers began employment with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in August 2022 as the Environmental Stewardship Division’s (ESD) Deputy Director. In this position, Chad provides leadership and promotes environmental stewardship for the management of several working lands management programs, including the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program, Right to Farm Program, Farmland and Open Space Preservation Program, Intercounty Drain Program, Migrant Labor Housing Program, Forestry Assistance Program, and Conservation Programs.
Before working with ESD, Chad obtained a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from Michigan State University and a Master of Public Administration from Western Michigan University. Before joining ESD, Chad enjoyed a 22-year career with the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, where he served in a variety of roles administering sustainability, pollution prevention, recycling, environmental justice, air quality, and environmental remediation programs and initiatives.
In addition to his employment, Chad is an alumnus of the Great Lakes Leadership Academy and Michigan Quality of Life Leadership Academy, a Green Living Science Board member, and a National Pollution Prevention Roundtable Board member.
