West Central Spring Horticulture Day

2024-03-14T12:30:00Z 2024-03-14T21:00:00Z West Central Spring Horticulture Day This annual horticulture meeting is organized by the MSU Tree Fruit Educator every year and highlights a broad range of fruit related topics. Oceana MAEAP Technician Lynda Herremans and USDA NRCS District Conservationist Mark Kelly will be starting the meeting off with a MAEAP update and new cost assistance programs available through USDA for planting pollinators and multi-species cover crops. Alissa Conley, Produce Safety Technician will be providing updates and resources on Produce Safety. There will be additional pest and disease control and thinning topics covered by MSU researchers. In late afternoon, there will be pruning demonstrations in orchards at two area farms. The educational sessions will take place at the West Central Michigan Research and Extension Center at 5185 N. Oceana Dr. Hart, MI 49420 starting at 8:30 am and will last until 2:15 pm with lunch included.  The first pruning demonstration takes place at the Research Station at 2:30 until 3:30 with the second one at 4:00-5:00 in New Era.
