Come join us for our MAEAP on Farm Field Day!  This years topic is "Transitioning to Organic"  We are so excited for this event.

Schedule is as follows:

  • 9:30 -10:00 -Registration
    Check In, Name Badges and Material- Coffee and Donuts
  • 10:00-10:15 - Introductions & MAEAP update at the Silo
  • 10:15-10:30 - Produce Safety Presentation at the Silo
  • 10:30-11:00- NRCS Presentation on the EQIP Organic Initiative
  • 11:00 -12:00- Granor Walking Farm Tour - Organic Vegetable Presentation and Grain Presentation-Granor Gardens and Fields
  • 12:00-1:00  Lunch at Granor- Silo
  • 1:00-2:00  Brian Ward, Organic Vegetable Specialist from Clemson University, - Maximizing Cover in Vegetable and Organic    systems-Silo

    Brian will talk about how to create crop rotations that include cover crops, how to optimize no-till and cover crops for weed management, and benefits to the soil and fertility from using covers in these types of systems.

  • 2:00-2:10  Closing Remarks- Silo
     
    This event is "FREE".  Will qualify for MAEAP Phase 1.  RUP credits are pending.
    We do have a limit on attendance so register now at www.berriencd.org/events.
