Description:

Join the Berrien County Conservation District and Mike Stickle, Soil Conservation Technician from USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for a workshop about the programs available through NRCS and how to apply for them.  

The workshop will answer the following questions:

  • What programs are available?  
  • What kind of cost-share is available for the practices covered under these programs?
  • How do I apply?
  • What steps do I need to take to receive funding for my application?

Environmental Quality Incentives Program(EQIP): Provides financial and technical assistance to agriculture producers to address natural resource concerns and deliver environmental benefits, such as improved water and air quality, conserved ground and surface water, reduced soil erosion and sedimentation, and improved or created wildlife habitat.

Conservation Stewardship Program(CSP): Helps agriculture producers maintain and improve their existing conservation systems and adopt additional conservation activities to address priority natural resource concerns. Participants earn CSP payments for conservation performance- the higher the performance, the higher the payment.
