Examinations

Civil Service examinations are designed to measure the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform successfully on the job or in training and are required for certain classified positions. Use the drop-down box below to view the jobs (classifications) and the qualifications required to apply for that examination.

Applicants interested in Entry-Level Law Enforcement positions must take and pass the examination before applying for a vacancy. Apply to take this examination by visiting www.governmentjobs.com/careers/michigan and search for “Entry-Level Law Enforcement Examination.”  Applicants may take the exam through the National Testing Network as well.

All other examinations are open to current state employees only.  The exams are administered according to the Examination Schedule.  Apply to take these examinations by visiting www.governmentjobs.com/careers/michigan and search for the appropriate exam title.
