Employees with State HDHP coverage effective January 1, 2021 will receive the state’s HSA contribution on January 7, 2021. Qualified medical expenses incurred between the beginning of the plan year through January 6, 2021 can be paid from the HSA funds deposited on January 7, 2021. Ask your provider to bill you, or you can use the HSA for reimbursement if you pay out of pocket.
The state’s contribution (also referred to as seed money) will be prorated if you enroll midyear due to a qualifying life event based on the State HDHP enrollment effective date.
