Monthly Manager Sessions

These monthly sessions are meant to provide information, support, and resources specific to the challenges and issues managers encounter. The sessions will be provided in a Teams Meeting format allowing for presentation, questions, and discussion. ESP would like to offer managers the opportunity to gain knowledge and information not only from the formal material presentation, but from the wisdom and experiences of fellow managers.

Managing Change and Uncertainty-The Manager’s View: Tuesday April 19:  12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m.
As managers, we are continuing to experience change on a constant basis, which has the potential for increasing stress levels as well as the employees we supervise. This is especially true when there is uncertainty related to change or things that feel out of our control. How we manage and lead during times of uncertainty and change can make a huge difference on our overall outlook and well-being. This webinar will help increase understanding of why change can be stressful, learn strategies for minimizing and managing stress for you and your team, and guide you through a quick relaxation technique to use during uncertain times.

Managing During Times of Trauma and Grief: Tuesday May 17:  12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m.
A traumatic or critical incident is a powerful event that is unexpected, distressing, and can trigger stress reactions. Employees look to you for direction, even at times you may feel sad, confused, and overwhelmed yourself. This session will provide information to assist you in responding to workplace trauma or grief and review the State of Michigan’s Traumatic Incident Stress Management program, ESP Grief Services, and additional ESP resources related to trauma and grief.

Navigating Communication and Conflict for Managers: Tuesday June 21: 12:00 p.m. -1:00 p.m.
Communication in the workplace has never been as challenging as it is today. With a blend of in-office, remote, and hybrid work schedules, constant change and the discussion of potentially divisive topics and issues, it is vital that we communicate kindly and productively. This webinar will help identify current communication hurdles and teach methods that can lead to more effective and positive workplace communication.
