Benefits
How do I enroll in or update my health, dental, vision, long term disability, life and flexible spending benefit elections?
New hires should enroll in benefits by contacting the MI HR Service Center within 31 days of hire.
Annually, employees can make changes to their benefit elections during open enrollment through Self Service, or by calling MI HR Service Center. For more information on open enrollment, visit EBD’s open enrollment page.
Employees wishing to make changes to benefit elections outside of open enrollment due to life events, should visit www.michigan.gov/employeebenefits or contact MI HR Service Center to determine eligibility.
I’m a member of the Michigan State Police (MSP), how do I enroll in short term disability, Prudential life plan or the deferred retirement option plan (DROP)?

I am currently on a leave of absence and need to update my benefits. Who should I contact?
Employees that are off work but using leave credits to cover their time off (remain on payroll) should contact the MI HR Service Center to discuss benefit changes.
Employees that have elected to continue insurance coverage through COBRA should contact Employee Benefits Division for questions on how to update benefit coverages.
How do I know if my dependent is eligible for coverage on my SOM benefits?
Visit EBD’s website for detailed guidelines on dependent eligibility or contact the MI HR Service Center.
I want to update or verify my beneficiary designations for employee life benefit.
Beneficiary information can be viewed and updated in Self Service. Paper forms can be submitted to your agency’s HR office if unable to access Self Service.
Where can I make changes to my Qualified Transportation Fringe Benefits (QTFB)?
Employees should visit Self Service to add, change or stop QTFB deductions. If unable to access through Self Service, employees can contact MI HR Service Center.
Reimbursements can be claimed through Self Service or by contacting EBD.
Payroll
I have a question about my State parking lot deduction.
If you have a question about the payroll deduction associated with a State parking lot assignment, please contact the MI HR Service Center.
Questions about securing a parking spot in a State lot should be directed to DTMB.
How do I update my banking information for direct deposit?
New hires will have their direct deposit initially set up by their agency HR office.
Employees should visit Self Service to add, change or stop direct deposits. If unable to access through Self Service, employees can send a completed and signed EFT form to MI HR Service Center.
Where can I obtain a copy of my paystub or earnings statement?
Earnings statements are available for 40 pay periods through Self Service. Employees can view, download or print earnings statements online.
Personal Information
I’ve recently moved. How do I update my address or phone number?
Home and supplemental addresses, as well as home phone numbers can all be updated through Self Service. If unable to access through Self Service, employees can contact MI HR Service Center.
I need to update my personal email address on file.
Employees should visit Self Service to update personal emails. If unable to access through Self Service, employees can contact MI HR Service Center.
I would like to update my emergency contacts.
Employees should visit Self Service to update emergency contacts. If unable to access through Self Service, employees can contact MI HR Service Center.
