New CTE Program Application Process Overview

New Career and Technical Education Program Application Process Overview

  • New CTE Program Application Window dates are listed under Important Dates on the home page of the CTEIS website.

  • The following link will direct you to the list of State-recognized Secondary CTE Program CIP Codes which may be applied for.

  • Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. of the last day of each application window.

  • Submit all pertinent information via the CTEIS website.  The site will direct you on the acceptable format of the materials which you are to upload.

  • The application follows the CIP Self‑Review format and will be a combination of uploaded documentation and assurances. Note:  All vital communication pertaining to the application is sent to the CEPD Administrator.

  • Submitted applications will be assigned to a consultant from the OCTE.The consultant will review and communicate with the program applicant as needed via email, phone, or the CTEIS modify function regarding questions or documentation clarification necessary to make their application approval decision.

  • Decisions for applications submitted by 5:00 p.m. of the last day of each application window will be completed within 60 days of the application window closing date. This will allow adequate time for a PSN to be assigned prior to 4483 submission for programs operating at the time of application approval.

For example, if a CTE program operates during the 2016-2017 school year and receives state approval, enrollments for the year may be entered on the 2016-2017 4483 report.

  • Each fall the Office of Career and Technical Education hosts a New Program Application Technical Assistance Meeting. We strongly recommend attendance. The information provided at this meeting is vital for individuals directly involved in the development of a New CTE Program Application.

  • Registration for the conference opens in the late summer/early fall of each year coordinated by FSU Conference & Professional Services at  You will be asked to setup a User Account if you do not already have one.

  • During the registration process you will need to identify the CTE program you are registering for.  A separate registration must be submitted for each program you are applying for.  Because some of the programs require greater support, we recommend that a different participant attend for each of the programs you will be applying for.
