Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) 2004, Part B, Section 619 Preschool Grants

The IDEA of 2004, Part B, Section 619 Preschool Grants serve the purpose of providing special education programs and services to children ages two and a half through five. Federal legislation requires each state to report annually on 20 indicators of performance for children ages three through 21 receiving special education services. Of these 20 indicators, three apply exclusively to children ages three through five. Some examples of services through IDEA are speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and social work.
