Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Part B, Section 611, Grant Funded Initiatives

The Grant Funded Initiatives are competitive grants that implement and fully operationalize programs and services that will: assure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in support of the IDEA general supervision requirements; provide researched-based literacy and behavior interventions for all learners; provide improvement in mathematics instruction that benefit all learners with a focus on students with disabilities; provide research-based and implementation strategies for Universal Design for Learning principles, including assistive technology; and offer training and technical assistance and personnel development to improve the instruction for students with disabilities.

Each of these Grant Funded Initiatives is identified as targeted improvement strategies in the State Performance Plan and Annual Performance Report submitted to the United States Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs.
