In conjunction with recent funding from the State of Michigan, 16 Michigan secondary schools (grades 9, 10, 11 or 12) will be selected to receive fully funded SME PRIME® programs. Come learn how your institution might qualify for selection! SME PRIME® partners private industry with academia to build custom manufacturing and engineering programs in high schools across the country, providing equipment, curriculum, teacher training, student scholarships, and funding for extra-curricular activities and program sustainability. SME PRIME® is tailored to meet the needs of local manufacturers and is aligned with over 30 industry recognized certifications. SME PRIME® is in 93 schools across 23 states (33 of which are in Michigan), serving 9,000 students, and 91% of PRIME seniors pursue manufacturing post-graduation. With the addition of 16 new SME PRIME® schools, the number of Michigan schools participating in this unique partnership-driven initiative will grow to 49. Will your institution be one of these 16 fortunate schools? SME PRIME® can be utilized to enhance existing manufacturing and engineering CTE programming or build new programming from the ground up. Regardless, SME PRIME® schools bear no cost as the entire program is underwritten by the state of Michigan and sustainability is provided by the SME Education Foundation.
