Self-Advocates of Michigan Board (SAM)
Self-Advocates of Michigan (SAM) is an advocacy organization comprised of people with developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD), working together to make a difference. Their mission is to empower with I/DD to advocate and ownership of their lives.
The purpose of the organization is advocate for independence, inclusion, freedom, opportunity, respect and dignity, while making the public aware of the abilities of people with I/DD throughout Michigan. SAM holds the vision that people with I/DD should live fulfilling lives according to their own choices.
