Get Started on Your Health Journey

After taking the pledge to live a healthier life, the next thing you should do is make an appointment with your doctor. Your doctor will play a key role throughout your journey and will be able to set safe, trackable health goals with you.

There are four key health measures that are closely linked to several chronic diseases. You should learn these numbers and regularly track them with your doctor.

  • Weight and body mass index
  • Blood pressure
  • Cholesterol level
  • Blood sugar level

Additionally, print the Know Your Numbers sheet and take it to your doctor to help set a healthy, realistic goal for yourself. To calculate what losing 10% of your body weight is, just do the math: (your weight in pounds) x .10 = your 10% weight loss goal (pounds).
