The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) has summarily suspended the registered nurse license of Angela Lynn Roman, R.N., based on her felony conviction in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, Southern Division.

On March 29, 2004, Roman was convicted of Mail Fraud-Aiding and Abetting, a felony. As a result, Roman was placed on probation, with special conditions, for a period of two years, and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $79,333.00.

On May 4, 2005, MDCH issued an order immediately suspending Roman’s license pursuant to the Public Health Code, which provides for the mandatory summary suspension of a health professional’s license upon the conviction of a felony. An administrative hearing will be scheduled to address the status of Roman’s registered nurse license.
