The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) will hold an informational meeting to establish a Community Advisory Group as it prepares to conduct an Exposure Investigation at Continental Aluminum in Lyon Township, Oakland County.
The meeting will be held at Lyon Township Offices, 58000 Grand River Avenue, New Hudson, on October 14 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The purpose of the Community Advisory Group will be to represent all stakeholders, to reach consensus regarding sampling conditions and personnel, and to advise and inform the MDCH as the agency finalizes the Exposure Investigation Protocol.
The Group will not direct the Investigation; however, each member’s input will be heard and considered. MDCH will be responsible for final decisions that will be implemented in the Investigation. All persons with an interest in the Exposure Investigation are invited to attend this informational meeting.
Group members will decide under what conditions and how often they will meet. It is expected that the time commitment for this ad hoc group will be short-term.
