Dr. Kimberlydawn Wisdom, Michigan Surgeon General, will meet with more than 250 public health stakeholders tomorrow as she introduces a new healthy lifestyles campaign for the general public.
The goal of this initial meeting will be to mobilize businesses, health care providers, voluntary health organizations, healthcare purchasers and insurers, schools and educators, faith-based organizations, and Michigan communities as partners in creating a long term “Social Movement” to achieve healthier lifestyles through not smoking, eating healthy, and getting regular physical activity.
The meeting will be followed by a press conference later in the summer as Dr. Wisdom unveils a brand-new Michigan Steps Up! website for the general public.
The meeting will take place Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dr. Wisdom will issue the Call To Action for Michigan citizens beginning at 3:15 p.m.
