Aging & Adult Services Agency Statement on the Older Americans Act Reauthorization

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Aging & Adult Services Agency (AASA) Acting Executive Director Richard Kline issued the following statement on yesterday’s passage of the Older Americans Act Reauthorization:  

“Yesterday President Obama signed the Older Americans Act Reauthorization Act of 2016 into law.

“For more than 50 years, the Older Americans Act has provided a variety of essential home and community-based programs and services to millions of older adults in Michigan and across the country.

“AASA thanks the president and members of Congress for their work to ensure older adults continue to have access to these critical programs and services that help them maintain their independence and live with dignity in their communities as they age.”
