Information on Chemical Terrorism Testing

The Division of Laboratory Sciences at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides laboratory support for the public health response to chemical threat agents and threats involving selected toxins.  The Trace Metals Unit was designated by the CDC as one of ten state public health agency laboratories to be a level 1 laboratory for the chemical emergency response program.   Level 1 labs are those that provide immediate back up to CDC.
