Ramiro Galván, Director of Legislative Affairs
Ramiro Galván serves as the director of Legislative Affairs for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, where he is responsible for overseeing the legislative affairs team, constituent services originating with members of the Michigan Legislature, and the development and advancement of MDHHS legislative priorities in collaboration with stakeholders.
Galván began his position in April 2022.
Previously, Galván served as chief of staff to Sen. Winnie Brinks in the Michigan Legislature. He also served as Brinks' legislative director and legislative assistant during her earlier position as a state representative.
Galván's other experience includes as a West Michigan organizer for the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, helping to advocate for clean energy legislation, and in a fellowship at the Center for Health & Research Transformation. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Michigan State University.
