Statewide NFC Review Emphasis Area 2 County Maps
The maps below were mailed out to either the Metropolitan Planning Organization or County in the Statewide NFC Review materials. The maps are created to be plotted on a 36" wide roll, so for best viewing, view at 100% zoom or greater in Adobe. The maps are to assist agencies in concentrating on the second emphasis area of the statewide NFC review. The highlighted colored routes are divided into three categories:
1. No PASER data was turned into the Transportation Asset Management Council on the route over the last two year collection period (2012-2013). This indicates the possibility that the route is non-surfaced or collection was missed on a paved federal-aid route. This is the only statewide information for surface data that MDOT has on non-MDOT routes. A general rule is federal-aid highways should be paved or have plans to pave them.
2. The Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) reported to the Non-trunkline Federal-aid (NTFA) traffic count program is less than 700 AADT for counties that are wholly or partially within the Metropolitan Planning Organization boundaries or less than 400 AADT for counties with no Metropolitan Planning Organization within the county boundary.
3. The route is in both categories above. Particular attention should be paid to these routes during the statewide review to justify the routes current federal-aid status or propose re-classifing the routes to either minor collector or local functional classification.
