Can you fully relieve the tension in the cable by loosening the turnbuckle or is there still enough tension in the cable after loosening the turnbuckle to allow the cable to "take off?"

Yes, you can release the tension in the cable by loosening the turnbuckle. This may not be necessary since the system loses tension after loosening posts. Relieving tension in the system may not be necessary. Refer to question 11.

Note - If the cables are under tension, it is not safe to loosen the cable turnbuckles past the inspection holes. In addition to the safety risk, there is an increased cost and delay associated with repairing damaged turnbuckles and cables.
