The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $2.6 million to resurface M-37 from State Street in Grant north to the southern junction of M-82 in the city of Newaygo. This project also includes reconstructing M-37 with new storm water drainage from Lee Street to State Street in the city of Grant.
During resurfacing work (May-June), weekday single-lane closures under flag control will be used to maintain M-37 traffic. All lanes will be open over the weekend.
During reconstruction and storm drainage work (June-August), northbound M-37 truck and through-traffic will be detoured east on 128th Avenue, north on Willow Street, and west on 112th Avenue. Local traffic can also head west on 120th Avenue. One lane of southbound M-37 traffic will remain open throughout the project.
This will improve the ride quality and extend the service life of the roadway.
