PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close and detour northbound I-475 from Carpenter Road to Clio Road to begin rebuilding the roadway. This work is part of an overall $44 million investment to rebuild and improve the I-475 corridor.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
Beginning July 29, northbound I-475 will be closed from Carpenter Road to Clio Road. To accommodate this closure, northbound I-475 traffic will be detoured via westbound I-69 and northbound I-75. Local traffic access to Carpenter Road will be maintained.
Southbound I-475 will remain closed to traffic through August while construction continues. Due to weather delays, both directions of traffic will be closed in order to finish the project this year.
SAFETY BENEFITS:
This work will improve the road surface and drainage, while also improving safety with new signs and freeway lighting.
