MDOT is planning to reconstruct US-131 in 2019 from the south junction of M-60 to the Rock River Bridge in Three Rivers, St. Joseph County. US-131 will be reconfigured from the current six-lane configuration to a boulevard with Michigan left-turns at signalized intersections. While there are no plans to widen the roadway, major changes are planned for the operation of the corridor, including reconfiguring the M-60 interchange. As part of the project, a bike path is planned on the east side of US-131, as well as a sidewalk on the west side of US-131.
