The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $10 million to reconstruct 5.7 miles of US-23 from north of Tawas Beach Road to south of Kirkland Drive. The project also features new curb and gutter, new storm sewer, and safety improvements, including extension of the center left-turn lane to Aulerich Road.

This work will require single-lane closures with flag control.
This project will include installing new rumble strips and pavement markings. The extension of the center left-turn lane to Aulerich Road will improve safety as well.
