PROJECT:                          
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin joint repairs and resurfacing on I-475 from Carpenter Road to Clio Road. This work includes resurfacing the ramps at the I-475/I-69 and I-69/I-75 interchanges. This work is part of an overall $44 million investment to rebuild 3 miles of I-475 and to complete capital preventive maintenance work and other improvements to the I-475 corridor.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:                     
Motorists should expect intermittent shoulder, single, and double-lane closures along I-475 from Carpenter Road to Clio Road for joint repairs and paving. The following ramp closures at the I-475/I-69 and I-69/I-75 interchanges are expected (all work is weather dependent):

Monday, Oct. 8:

  • Southbound I-475 to eastbound and westbound I-69
  • Northbound I-475 to westbound I-69

Tuesday, Oct. 9:

  • Westbound I-69 to northbound and southbound I-75

SAFETY BENEFITS:
This work will create a smoother driving surface on the ramps at I-475/I-69 in advance of the remaining work planned for the 2019 construction season.
