May 15, 2019 -- Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) contract crews will move into another phase on the project to replace the Brush Street overpass above I-94 in Detroit. Currently, eastbound and westbound I-94 traffic is shifted toward the median to maintain three lanes in each direction during peak travel times. Beginning at 1 a.m. and ending by 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, crews will close the left two lanes on eastbound and westbound I-94 to shift traffic toward the right shoulder to begin construction of the median pier. Upon completion of the work, three lanes will be maintained in each direction during peak travel times. All work on this $11.6 million investment is scheduled to be completed in November.

Starting at 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, crews will close the eastbound I-94 ramp to northbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway) until Labor Day. The ramp closure is needed to replace the barrier wall on the ramp, along with structural and pavement repairs. In conjunction, the westbound I-94 right lane under the M-10 ramp will close nightly starting at 9 p.m. and ending by 5 a.m. the following morning. Ramp traffic will be detoured to northbound I-75 then westbound M-8 (Davison Freeway) back to northbound M-10.
