US-31 and M-104 Bridge Improvements, Ottawa County

Start: March 2021     End: June 2023

What Is Being Done?

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will improve six bridges at the US-31/M-104 interchange in Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Ferrysburg, including the bridges over the Grand River and Spring Lake Channel.

How Traffic Will Be Affected:

Work will take place in the spring and fall to acommodate summer traffic (no lane closures expected between mid-June and early September). One lane will remain open in each direction at all times on US-31 and M-104. US-31 connections to 3rd Street and M-104 will be closed during various stages and detoured to the Van Wagoner Street exit. Pedestrian pathways will be open Memorial Day through Labor Day. Check www.Michigan.gov/Drive for up-to-date traffic information for motorists and pedestrians.

Safety Benefits:

Long-term benefits include improvements to vehicle safety and operations, as well as extending the service life of the roadway and bridges.
