The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will have an open house public meeting to discuss construction plans for the I-75 Business Loop (BL) in Gaylord. MDOT plans to rebuild the roadway, known locally as South Otsego Avenue, from the southbound I-75 off ramps at Exit 279 to Wisconsin Avenue/Grandview Boulevard, and build a roundabout at the McCoy Road intersection.

Accessibility:
Accommodations can be made for persons who require mobility, visual, hearing, written, or other assistance for participation. Large print materials, auxiliary aids or the services of interpreters, signers, or readers are available upon request. Please contact Orlando Curry at 517-241-7462 or complete Form 2658 for American Sign Language (ASL) located on the Title VI webpage: https://www.Michigan.gov/MDOT/Programs/Title-VI. Requests should be made at least five days prior to the meeting date. Reasonable efforts will be made to provide the requested accommodation or an effective alternative, but accommodations may not be guaranteed.

Background:
MDOT plans to invest roughly $12 million to rebuild 2.2 miles of I-75 BL (South Otsego Avenue) between the south I-75 exit in Gaylord and Wisconsin Avenue/Grandview Boulevard. The project will include rebuilding the asphalt roadway, a new roundabout at McCoy Road, reduced shoulder widths, nonmotorized pathways, and streetscape improvements.

This work will require a combination of lane closures and shifts, in addition to local road closures. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin in spring 2024 and will continue into fall 2024.

During the project, updates will be posted on Mi Drive, shared on social media and in news releases, and posted on portable message signs.
