2023-11-16T13:00:00Z 2023-12-16T23:00:00Z Public open house available through Dec. 16 for proposed I-94 CAV corridor project

MDOT invites the public to participate in a virtual open house to provide feedback on the ongoing National Environmental Policy Act Environmental Assessment (EA) for the I-94 connected and automated vehicle (CAV) corridor project in Wayne and Washtenaw counties. The proposed CAV corridor project would use an existing lane on I-94 in each direction to create a technology-enabled express lane.

Accessibility:
Attendees who require mobility, visual, hearing, written, or other assistance for effective participation should contact Orlando Curry at 517-241-7462 or CurryO@Michigan.gov, preferably at least five business days in advance. Forms are located on the Title VI webpage. Requests made after this timeframe will be evaluated and honored to the extent possible.

Project information:
MDOT and Cavnue, a private company, are piloting the design and implementation of the I-94 CAV corridor project to test and support autonomous vehicles. Construction on the pilot phase of the corridor has started, using a lane closure to support the installation of technology necessary to test CAVs traveling on westbound I-94 from Haggerty Road to Rawsonville Road. In addition to the pilot phase of the project, MDOT is completing an EA on the full project area from M-10 in Detroit to Ann-Arbor Saline Road in Ann Arbor.

MDOT is seeking input from the community throughout the environmental assessment and pilot phase for the corridor. Visit the I-94 CAV corridor study website for more information.

Public input:
In addition to this virtual open house, comments and input can also be submitted using the contact information below or via an online public comment form by Dec. 16, 2023.
