PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is performing resurfacing, repairs and sewer installation work at the I-69 BL (Saginaw Highway)/Marsh Road and I-69 BL/Old M-78 intersections. This work is part of the ongoing $2.5 million safety investment to improve four intersections along I-69 BL in Meridian and Bath townships in Ingham and Clinton counties.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
During this work, the northbound Marsh Road right-turn lane onto Saginaw Highway will be closed until Oct. 25.
Northbound and southbound Marsh Road traffic is no longer permitted to travel through the intersection with Saginaw Highway.
Traffic signal work will be ongoing.
Delays are expected; an alternate route is advised.
SAFETY BENEFITS:
Removing direct left turns at the Saginaw Highway/Marsh Road intersection and using indirect left turns (also known as Michigan Lefts) will improve safety.
Repairs and maintenance help preserve the roadway and create a smoother, safer driving surface for drivers.
Closing lanes during this type of work is necessary to provide the safest work area possible for crews and motorists.
