The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be working on 12 miles of I-69 and three bridges (Fenn Road, State Road and Newton Road) between Girard Road and Otis Road.
This $7.7 million investment includes pavement and joint repairs, resurfacing, crack sealing, and drainage improvements on I-69 between Otis Road and Girard Road. This project will improve ride quality and provide a longer lasting pavement on I-69. It will also extend the life of the Fenn Road, State Road, and Newton Road bridges.
One lane of I-69 will remain open in each direction throughout construction. Each of the three bridges will be closed and detoured.
Fenn Road will be closed over I-69 April 7 - July 17. Traffic on westbound Fenn Road will be detoured north on I-69 to Exit 13 US-12, then west to southbound I-69. Eastbound Fenn Road will be detoured south on I-69 to Exit 3 Copeland Road, then east to northbound I-69.
State Road will be closed over I-69 April 7 - July 17. State Road will be detoured via Fiske Road, Newton Road, and Michigan Avenue.
Newton Road will be closed over I-69 from Aug. 4 to Oct. 30, and will be detoured via Fiske Road, State Road and Michigan Avenue.
