M-199 resurfacing in Albion starts next week

PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be resurfacing 4 miles of M-199 from I-94 to Superior Street. This $2.6 million investment includes concrete curb and gutter replacement, sidewalk repairs, sidewalk ramp upgrades, culvert replacement, and pavement markings. The carpool lot on C Drive North at I-94 Exit 121 also will be resurfaced.

SAFETY BENEFITS:
Culvert replacement will improve drainage and reduce roadway flooding. Sidewalk ramp upgrades will improve safety for pedestrians and nonmotorized travel. The new road surface will improve the ride quality for motorists and extend the life of the pavement.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
For most of the project, there will be single-lane closures with traffic maintained by traffic regulators.
M-199 will be closed and detoured during nighttime work from Eaton Street to Superior Street. Detours will be posted on North Street, Eaton Street, Broadwell Street, and Albion Street.
