I-69 resurfacing and bridge maintenance in Shiawassee County start May 4
ESTIMATED START DATE:
Monday, May 4, 2020
ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $9.1 million in concrete pavement repairs and resurfacing on 5 miles of I-69. Work includes resurfacing the Woodbury Rest Area parking lot and bridge repairs on 12 structures, including epoxy overlays, deck patching, steel and beam repairs, and bridge approach improvements.

Drivers should expect single-lane closures on I-69. An advisory system will help notify drivers of any reduced speed zones ahead resulting from construction lane closures. Drivers should follow all posted speed limits and the warning system while traveling through this work zone.
Beginning Monday, May 4, northbound Woodbury Road will be closed over I-69 along with the northbound Woodbury Road ramp to westbound I-69.
Additional traffic impacts include the northbound M-52 ramp to westbound I-69 being closed, the Woodbury Rest Area being closed for three days during parking lot resurfacing, and Colby Lake Road, Shaftsburg Road, and Bath Road being closed for bridge work. These closures will be announced in advance.
This work will improve the road surface and make critical bridge improvements, extending the life of the infrastructure.
This road construction project is an essential function. Transportation workers in the field follow Centers for Disease Control guidelines to limit their risk of getting sick.
