Monday, April 27, 2020
ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will perform an in-depth inspection and load rating on the LaPlaisance Road bridge over I-75 in Monroe.
Traffic will be detoured to Dixie Highway to the north and South Otter Creek Road to the south.
The closure allows for an in-depth inspection and subsequent load rating to be performed based on the deterioration found. Any decision to reopen the bridge will be strictly based on the data from inspection and load rating findings.
This bridge is already scheduled for replacement in 2021.
This road construction project is an essential function. Transportation workers in the field follow Centers for Disease Control guidelines to limit their risk of getting sick.
