Progress continues this week on I-75 bridge replacements in Oakland County

Fast facts:
- Starting Thursday, crews will begin setting bridge beams on the southbound I-75 bridge over Livernois Road.  
- Livernois Road will close under I-75 beginning at 11 a.m. daily on Thursday, May 7, and Friday, May 8.
- During the bridge beam setting, the southbound I-75 entrance ramp from Big Beaver will close.    

May 5, 2020 -- Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) contracting crews will be closing both directions of Livernois Road under I-75 to set bridge beams starting at 11 a.m.  Thursday, May 7. The initial closure will remain in place until 7 p.m. Another full closure will be needed 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Friday, May 8. Currently, both directions of I-75 have two lanes open with all traffic using the northbound side of the freeway, separated by a temporary concrete barrier, between Adams and 13 Mile roads. During the beam setting, the temporary southbound I-75 entrance ramp will be closed at Big Beaver Road.    

During the closure, detours will be posted in each direction using Big Beaver, Maple, and Crooks roads. Upon reopening, both directions of Livernois Road will have one lane open in each direction under I-75.
