TRAFFIC DETAILS:
The final phase of the US-24 (Telegraph Road) bridge project north of I-96 will begin the week of May 18 with double-lane closures on northbound US-24 from Plymouth Road to just north of I-96 and on southbound US-24 from 5 Mile Road/Fenkell Avenue to I-96. Crews will begin working on the left lanes on the northbound side and the right lanes for the southbound side for a few days and will then switch to opposite lanes. Drivers need to stay aware of this changing work zone.
PROJECT DETAILS:
Last fall, the Michigan Department of Transportation began this $1.8 million project to perform bridge repairs on US-24 (Telegraph Road) over the Tarabusi Creek between I-96 and 5 Mile Road/Fenkell Avenue. Work has included removing and replacing support beams, patching the driving surface, and other repairs.
SAFETY BENEFIT:
This work will extend the life of the bridge, improve the safety of the roadway and ensure long-term use.
