Upcoming road, bridge, and ramp closures needed for repairs in Metro Detroit

DETROIT, Mich. - Weather permitting, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be closing several roads, bridges, and ramps for necessary repairs in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties.
Oakland County
- I-75 will be closed in each direction between US-24 and Saginaw Road beginning 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, for the demolition of the Rattalee Lake Road bridge over I-75. All traffic will be detoured onto Dixie Highway. Work is expected to be completed by 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7.
Northbound I-75 will be detoured via northbound US-24 (Dixie Highway) Exit 93 in the village of Clarkston and continue north to I-75 in Genesee County. Southbound I-75 traffic will be detoured in Grand Blanc Township and exit at Dixie Highway/Saginaw Road Exit 106, continuing on Dixie Highway to I-75 in Oakland County.
- US-24 Business Route (Franklin Road) will be closed between US-24 (Telegraph Road) and US-24 Business Route (Square Lake Road) in Bloomfield Township for pavement repair from 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7.
Macomb County
- M-19 (New Haven Road/Washington Street) will be closed over I-94 from 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, until Wednesday, Aug. 16, for necessary bridge work.
Northbound M-19 traffic will be detoured on westbound M-29 to northbound County Line Road, then westbound 26 Mile Road back to northbound M-19. Southbound M-19 traffic will follow eastbound 26 Mile Road to southbound County Line Road, then eastbound M-29 back to Washington Street.
In addition, the eastbound I-94 exit ramp to M-19 and the M-19 entrance ramp to westbound I-94 will be closed through the end of August.
Wayne County
- The eastbound and westbound M-102 (Eight Mile Road) bridges over I-75 will be closed for repairs to the substructure and driving surface beginning at 7 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 6. During the closure, M-102 traffic will use the service drives to cross over I-75. This closure is expected to remain in place until early November.
- The Larned Street overpass above I-375 in Detroit will be closed for substructure and driving surface repair from 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14. To safely accomplish the substructure repair, southbound I-375 will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Larned Street to Jefferson Avenue. Northbound I-375 will have a continuous closure from Jefferson Avenue to Larned Street. I-375 traffic will be detoured to the service drives in each direction.
- Eastbound I-96 express lanes from US-24 (Telegraph Road) to M-8 (Davison Avenue) will be closed for ongoing bridge work beginning at 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 8 to 5 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 9 for ongoing bridge work. Traffic will be detoured to the eastbound I-96 local lanes.
