Please allow two hours for your visit to the fort. The park also offers camping, picnicking, hiking, and other seasonal activities. Please note that the Copper Harbor Lighthouses are currently closed for tours.
Through October 15, the fort is open daily, 8:30 a.m. to dusk.
Masks and social distancing are required inside buildings.
Admission to Fort Wilkins is free. A Michigan State Parks Recreation Passport is required for entry to the park.
Fort Wilkins is located in Fort Wilkins Historic State Park, one mile east of Copper Harbor on U.S. 41.

Personal photography without flash for private use is permitted in the visitor center and on the grounds. Photographs may not be published, sold or otherwise distributed for commercial purposes.
Photography for weddings and other special events is allowed on the grounds and in the buildings during regular open hours with advance permission. Please contact us in advance to schedule a time.
Fifteen buildings at Fort Wilkins are accessible. Designated parking is available. Service animals are always welcomed.
Pets accompanied by and under the control of their human friends are welcome on the grounds of this site. Pets may not enter any building. For more information, see the Department of Natural Resources Pet-Friendly Rules.
