Jacob Hurt joined the Region 2 Planning Commission in 2020 as an Economic Development Planner and became Executive Director of the organization in the fall of 2021. In addition to the overall management of R2PC, he oversees regional land use and recreation planning projects, transportation planning, including the Jackson MPO, and the Region 2 Economic Development District. Jacob is a member of the Michigan Association of Regions, the Michigan Association of Planning, and the International Economic Development Council.
Prior to joining the Region 2 Planning Commission Jacob served as the COO of the Jackson Anchor Initiative. A seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in economic development, Jacob has also served as a municipal planning director and a private consultant. He is a graduate of Indiana University and resides in Jackson.
