The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is seeking motivated candidates for the Department's Remediation and Redevelopment Division Director position.
The Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy consists of more than 1,100 dedicated employees committed to protecting Michigan’s environment and its residents by effectively and efficiently managing the state’s air, water, land, and energy resources. The Remediation and Redevelopment Division is responsible for leading the department's efforts to ensure contaminated properties are appropriately addressed and managed while minimizing risks to the public and Michigan's environment. The Division also facilitates community revitalization and economic growth through its Brownfields Program.
This position reports to the Department's Chief Deputy Director and is a part of the Department's Senior Management Team. Strong candidates for this position will possess solid leadership, organization, and communication skills. They will have a technical understanding of complex remediation strategies and possess an ability to guide the division's team of nearly 300 individuals in appropriately prioritizing and addressing Michigan’s contaminated properties.
