MI Environment, EGLE's online publication, marked its first anniversary over the weekend. In that time, the publication has highlighted the work of EGLE staff to protect the environment and public health in 176 stories. Over 5,000 people now subscribe to the publication' weekly digest.
"MI Environment has proven to be an important way to highlight on the good work that EGLE employees do on behalf of Michigan's 10 million residents," said Hugh McDiarmid, EGLE's communications manager. "It goes beyond the media headlines to explore how EGLE is on the front lines of protecting Michigan's water, land, air and public health every day."
Stories range from how EGLE uses drone technology, videos on topics like recycling and open burning, and how the agency helps communities turn contaminated properties into productive use.
