COVID-19 Announcement
The U.S. Department of Education Announces Final Extension of COVID-19 Emergency Flexibilities to Defaulted Loans in the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program
- Collection activity will be paused through August 31, 2022.
- Interest rates will temporarily be set at 0% and will retroactively apply back to March 13, 2020.
- Voluntary payments can be requested to be refunded.
- Tax refunds offset over the past year will be automatically refunded.
- Wages garnished over the past year will be automatically refunded.
- Loans that defaulted since March 13, 2020 will be returned to good standing and assigned to the Department of Education.

Federal student loan payments (including the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) restart with your next scheduled payment after August 31, 2022
- Contact our office to make sure your contact information is current.
- If not on an established payment plan, contact our office to find out what payment plan options are available to you.
- Reestablish your auto-debit if you disabled it during the collection pause.
- Check your postal mail for student loan payment updates from your loan holder. The updates could include your monthly payment amount and due date.
- Administrative Wage Garnishment will resume
