Interconnection, DG & PURPA Rulemaking

On November 8, 2018, the Commission issued an order in Case No. U-20344 initiating a stakeholder process to explore options for new interconnection, distributed generation, legacy net metering, and legally enforceable obligation rules.  Commission Staff will be leading stakeholder processes to gather input for each of these efforts.  There will be three separate stakeholder processes: (1) Interconnection; (2) Distributed Generation and Legacy Net Metering; and (3) Defining a Legally Enforceable Obligation under the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 (PURPA).   The rules will potentially be combined into a single ruleset.  The planned timeframe to develop new rules is 9 months with the formal rulemaking process beginning in late 2019 with a target for new rules to be in place sometime in 2020.

Commission Staff have issued a draft proposed ruleset for Comments.
