Preliminary Findings Show Decrease in Traffic Deaths During Memorial Day Holiday Weekend

Preliminary reports indicate 10 people lost their lives in eight separate traffic crashes during the 2019 Memorial Day holiday weekend. In comparison, 19 people were killed in 15 fatal traffic crashes during the 2018 Memorial Day holiday weekend.

State Police Names Livingston County Resident as 2018 Michigan Professional Emergency Manager of the Year

Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division Commander, Capt. Emmitt McGowan is pleased to announce that Therese Cremonte, of Livingston County, is the 2018 Michigan Professional Emergency Manager of the Year. Cremonte received the award at a special ceremony in Grand Rapids on May 6.

State Police to Motorists: Expect to See Troopers This Memorial Day Weekend

Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers will take part in three traffic safety initiatives over the Memorial Day holiday weekend in an effort to reduce or eliminate serious injury and fatal traffic crashes. The three enforcement efforts include Operation C.A.R.E. (Crash Awareness and Reduction Efforts), Click it or Ticket and the 6 State Trooper Project.
