Vision Statement

The Michigan DEC Alliance seeks to establish a collaborative system of professionals that work to ensure all families lead lives free from abuse, neglect, and exposure to opioids and other harmful substances.

With funding from the Opioid Affected Youth Initiative, the Michigan State Police has established a statewide initiative to address the impact of substance use on families and children across Michigan. The project is led by a multidisciplinary steering committee with representatives from various state departments and other organizations.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Michigan DEC Alliance protects and serves drug endangered children and their families by promoting multidisciplinary collaboration and information sharing among DEC professionals, from early identification through intervention, response, and support.

MSP has partnered with the National Alliance for Drug Endangered Children to strengthen the efforts of this program.  National DEC provides training, assistance, and resources to state and local DEC alliances.  For more information on National DEC, visit their website.
